That’s not an opinion

Like many people, I have little tolerance for “opinions” that are not opinions at all. I have little patience for the questioning of reality by those who believe in lies. If you say the world is flat, that’s not an opinion; it’s just wrong. If I read one more media outlet that reports along the lines that “it appears that Biden won the election,” I may scream. Those Republican senators who say nothing and don’t tell Trump to concede are unforgivable, but those who state that it’s “likely” that Biden won the election — or there is no harm in allowing Biden to begin a transition while we figure out if he has won, make me cringe. HE WON THE FUCKING ELECTION, he didn’t “likely” win, it doesn’t “appear” that he has won. HE WON. Why is this so complicated for people? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you could have the “opinion” that they are waiting for the electoral college to make the win all tied up in a neat bow, but that’s not what this waffling is about. It’s about cowtowing to a crazy President and fear that his base will not vote for them in the next election.

And by the way, if each state confirms that a candidate has won the electoral votes, what is the point of then having an “electoral college” vote yet again to make it official. Oh, right, I think it was meant as a safety net in case the majority of Americans voted for a madman whose interests had nothing to do with democracy, but only with power and money: the electoral college could save us from societal stupidity.

Well, that worked out well.

But seriously, Biden won 306 electoral votes, the same that Trump won in 2016. He also won the popular vote by six million. The winner of the 2020 Presidential Election is far from complicated. If you’re of the “opinion” that there was voter fraud and enabled Biden to win the election, that is not an opinion, that is you experiencing a break from reality.

The frivolous lawsuits from Trump’s campaign arguing voter fraud with no evidence, taking up the court’s time and the taxpayer’s money, is nothing short of a travesty. Hiring Rudy Guiliani and his cohorts turn the travesty into a bizarre comedy: Guliani’s hair dye running down his face is a perfect for metaphor for the bullshit that has streamed like a polluted waterfall of untruths for the past four years. You can now see it on Rudy’s face.

A Facebook friend of mine has an amazing capacity to entertain conservative reality-bashers on her page. She is brave. She posts about America as a democracy, not as a dictatorship. She supports a political agenda that is oriented toward humanity, not money and power. She is middle of the road when it comes to politics, but the lambasting she takes on her page from the Trump cult is abominable. I wish I could be as brave as she is.
